Housing Support Worker - Charity in Supported Living - Leicester - Sociable Working Hours - Excellent Pay Rate

A responsible and progressive charity, aiming to provide social justice and support to vulnerable groups of people across the UK; ex-offenders, homeless, young people, people with mental health difficulties and those struggling with substance misuse. They are a well-established organisation with a positive market reputation and over 20 years of experience in supported living.

The Role:

The role is that of a Housing Support Worker; this is a 3-to-5-month contract, to be considered for extension and/or permanence.
This is a part-time role; 28 hours a week
Monday - Friday 9/5pm or 08:30 / 16:30pm
Pay rate for this role is GBP11.00 per hour on PAYE OR GBP14.00 Umbrella.
Based in Leicester - This will be a floating support service, candidate will need access to a vehicle.
The Responsibilities:

As a Housing Support worker, the primary purpose of your role will be to provide support to people with an offending history and high to medium needs aged 18 and over, male or female.
As a Housing Support worker, you will need to process referrals for their suitability for the service using the allocated pathway / system.
You will be required to understand and work to and deliver the support delivery model, service specification and outcomes identified for the project and its service users.
Part of your role will be to assist service users to achieve jointly agreed objectives set within their support plan, to liaise with external agencies as and when required.
You will need to support and assist service users in maintaining appropriate accommodation, working in partnership with other relevant agencies
As a Housing Support worker, you will empower the customer by facilitating the development of their skills and knowledge to enable them to access, secure and retain accommodation and housing into the future.
As a Housing Support Worker, you will need to assist customers with complex needs in identifying and obtaining practical support to facilitate independent living.
Part of your role as a Housing Support worker will be to facilitate the development of an Independent Living Plan in conjunction with the customer identifying short-, medium- and long-term goals to achieve and sustain independent living.
As Housing Support worker, you will be required to review and assess the customers progress against agreed goals to identify strategies to help ensure that goals are achieved in line with the independent living plan.
Required Skills:

Housing Support Worker's Must be someone with a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Experience in supporting clients / service-users' with complex needs is essential.
Proactive and able to use their own initiative to manage a caseload.
Previous experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes is essential.
The ability to support others in their tenancy sustainment and income management.
Appropriate understanding and passion for relevant social and cultural issues.

Desirable Skills:

Relevant training to housing or health and social care.
Over 3 years' experience within a relevant position i.e. Housing Support Worker.
Understanding of relevant legal framework and experience with homeless and young people through community work or social work.The Rewards:
