To repair and maintain mechanical equipment, a background in fabrication and welding would be advantageous. To repair where possible damage to buildings and plumbing. To follow all relevant Company, Health and Safety & Quality procedures and processes.

The role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Trainee:

• Maintain and repair machinery and buildings safely and effectively.
• Preventative maintenance tasks as per schedule
• Assist works managers with engineering/electrical problems at their sites.
• Report any unsafe plant or operations to line manager, make safe were possible.
• Forklift and MEWP Certificate (advantageous)
• Comply with Health and safety requirements.
• Comply with PPE requirements
• Building and plumbing repairs
• Housekeeping

The ideal Mechanical Maintenance Engineer Trainee:

• Current clean driving licence
• Mechanical engineering back round.
• Ability to use tool room equipment correctly and safely.
• Ability to weld and fabricate.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
• Ability to fault find and carry out corrective action.
• Good communication skills
• Understanding of company training procedure
• Understanding of all relevant Company, Health and Safety.
• Flexible approach to work
