Can you take the lead on big supply chain issues?

We are looking for someone to bring the latest supply chain thinking to IGD s global customers. You ll be interacting with industry figures to understand their challenges and opportunities, translating that into insight to help improve supply chain performance.

About the role

This Supply Chain Analyst role is about taking the lead in creating insight for the SCA service and Solutions business.

The Supply Chain Analysis (SCA) service provides users with report-based insights, as well as a programme of events, packed with data, insight and thought leadership. It is targeted at a supply chain audience in manufacturing, retail, and third-party organisations.

This role is for someone with a firm supply chain foundation who is keen to push to the next level. You ll ideally have experience of working in the food and consumer packaged goods industry (retailer, supplier, service provider or consultancy).

You ll be on top of the latest thinking and enjoy translating it into impactful content for IGD s global customers.

The responsibilities

Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, in the Commercial area of the IGD organisation, responsibilities of the Supply Chain Analyst include:

Growing our impact & engagement

You ll be working alongside the analysts who form the Online Insight Service Product Team to maximise and grow the impact of our SCA service. You ll work to engage customers, producing material that helps them to do their job better and to extract value from their investment.This is a commercial service with retention and new business targets.

Understanding the levers for change

With a solid background in the food and consumers goods supply chain, you ll understand the strategic levers for change.

Landing the message

Presenting to an audience is a growing part of the way IGD connects with its customers. You ll be confident in presenting to supply chain audiences, landing messages and answering questions. And you ll be able to communicate complex ideas in simple, easy to digest ways.

Generating unique content

You ll understand customers needs to ensure that we focus on the issues that matter to them.You ll produce content on the latest trends. including case studies, best practice guides and benchmarking reports; identifying developments through your networking.

Producing insight

As Supply Chain Analyst, you ll generate primary research using various quantitative and qualitative methods, producing insight in the most compelling and impactful way to engage more users of our website. You ll take a customer-focused approach to improve the quality of our research.

There ll be day-to-day management of the service and support for the IGD Solutions programme on client-specific projects.

What you bring

A track record across demand/supply planning, supply chain development, customer logistics environments

Knowledge of the consumer-packaged goods industry: a broad understanding of big trends, backed up by examples of key projects driving continuous improvement

A self-starter (graduate calibre) with the drive and determination to succeed

A collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills, able to influence the organisation

Project management skills and ability to deliver to deadlines involving various stakeholders

Excellent writing skills & examples of creative, innovative thinking
