Asset Officer

Nayr Recruitment are currently looking for an Asset Officer based in Suffolk for a 9 months contract within the public sector.

Location: Suffolk (hybrid, able to travel to EA sites in Suffolk)
IR35: In scope
Pay Rate: Up to GBP400 per day

Minimum Requirement:

• Good understanding of CAD (essential)
• Ability to attend site with AP Suffolk members
• Great communication skills.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation including CDM2015.
• Experience of coaching or developing others skills/knowledge.
• Working experience of risk management procedures.
• Effective planning skills with the ability to multitask, prioritise and deliver results to tight deadlines.
• You must be able to take initiative, be flexible, solve problems and make decisions.
• Excellent IT skills and experience of managing and interpreting data.

Experience:

Educational experience is required in an engineering or science background or customer related field. This experience may be gained through a combination of formal qualifications and some experience through to no formal qualification and substantial experience.

Ideally, you will have an engineering or science background. Some demonstrable knowledge of flood risk management would be advantageous although not essential. Formal qualifications in civil engineering, project management; data and information management (e.g. GIS); and experience of undertaking works in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are advantageous, however, the ability to demonstrate comparable technical knowledge would be valuable.

Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Ipswich Asset Performance team in Suffolk.
• You will take an active role in managing our flood risk defenses in the local area. You will be helping to deliver a wide variety of work to ensure that we have the right flood risk assets in the right places and that they are in the correct condition. You will help manage our data to ensure it is of a high quality and can be relied upon to inform our future investment programme. This may include site work to understand our defences, collect, analyse and interpret information on it to ensure that we can manage it efficiently.
• This role involves huge variety and so you may be planning an engineering project one day, undertaking data work the next day and liaising with contractors, local residents and partners on another. There is also the opportunity to be involved with incident response. We re seeking individuals with a passion for the environment and the ability to learn new skills. The way in which you adapt, communicate & use your initiative to overcome problems is what will set you apart.
• As Asset Performance advisor, you ll be responsible for overseeing a programme of asset inspections, revenue maintenance works and capital schemes across Ipswich region in order to reduce flood risk. You re a credible leader - someone who can offer direction, support and professional guidance to your expert team.
• As an experienced project manager, you ll take responsibility for working with external partners such as contractors, drainage boards and local authorities to ensure work is delivered on time and to budget. You ll also be involved in developing the strategic direction for the future of asset management in the area.

You should also have:
• Ability to attend site with AP Suffolk members
