Brief
CAD Engineer needed to join a bespoke technology and engineering organization, who provide leading digital products and services within transport, based out of their site in Middlesex. As a CAD Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and creation of 2D and 3D technical manufacturing data, including; models and drawings. CAD Engineers sit within the Design Department and are responsible for completing projects on-time and within budget whilst promoting and supporting continuous improvement.
It is desirable for the successful candidate to hold the relevant qualification in Engineering (Apprenticeship, Degree or equivalent) and have a keen interest in being a CAD Engineer.
What the role entails:
Some of the main duties of the CAD Engineer will include:
Responsible for the detailed design of products in-line with project brief.
Creation of technical drawings including; manufacturing drawings, client approval drawings, assembly drawings, and installation drawings.
Report the progress of design tasks to management, flagging any risks to completing tasks; on time, on budget, and to an acceptable quality.
Creation and control of Bill of Materials (BOM's), drawing registers, and project folders.
Coordinate design with all departments to ensure designs are manufacturable, transportable, installable and maintainable.
Ensure project SOP documentation is completed and provided to management for all design activities.What experience you need to be the successful CAD Engineer:
Relevant qualification in Engineering - Apprenticeship, Degree or equivalent.
Skilled in Inventor 3D, AutoCAD 2D, Advance Steel, Solid Works, Tekla
Previous experience working on architectural metalwork and fabrication designs.
Experience working in a similar role/ environment
