Supply Chain Manager - Permanent - Competitive Salary
A biotechnology organisation based in Oxford are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join them on a permanent basis with flexible remote working. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience in a Supply Chain role from a regulated industry that is looking for the next step in their career.
Job Description
The Supply Chain Manager will lead on inventory management, inventory forecasting, supplier performance, and streamlining costs. They will also be responsible for the end-to-end procurement process and assist with supplier selection.
Key Objectives
Work with contract manufacturers to understand production requirements and provide support to ensure continuity of supply
Actively manage inventory across multiple global GMP sites; lead the cycle count of key materials, interpret and implement changes to stock levels
Maintain minimum safety stock levels that align with both production requirements and business forecasts
Monitor, report and communicate corrective actions to prevent or address material shortages
Liaise with key suppliers to agree material forecasts to support procurement decisions and purchasing actions
Arrange global shipments of materials and supplies which may require special conditions and/or monitoring
Plan, develop and implement suitable processes for material handling and shippingSkills / Qualifications
Demonstrable experience of managing highly regulated supply chains
An understanding of international logistics and importation of materials; in particular shipping Pharmaceutical materials and medical devices globally via all modes of transport (air, road, sea, often multimodal)
Previous experience procuring temperature sensitive chemical materials or items which require special conditions and monitoring for transport and storage
Experience with Demand Planning and/or Operations Planning
Knowledge of US customs and FDA requirements for the import/export of medical devices and active pharmaceutical ingredients
An understanding of European chemical compliance regulations such as REACh and Export Compliance regulations such as such a ITAR
Computer literate e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPointCompetencies
Excellent organisational & planning skills
Confident verbal and written communicator
Diplomatic, self-motivating
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
