I am working with a Public Sector Organisation based in Cheshire East who are looking for an experienced Policy & Reward Manager for 6 months (potential to extend to 12).

The role is full time, to start ASAP and paying GBP10.81 PAYE + holiday pay per hour The role is in scope of IR35.

JOB PURPOSE

Lead and manage the Policy and Reward team, including HR administration focusing on the delivery of the Workforce Strategy to ensure that the Council and Schools have the right people with the right capabilities, skills and attitudes in the right place at the right time.
DUTIES/REQUIREMENTS
Lead the Policy and Reward team to provide expertise and direction to support delivery of the Council's key priorities and services.
Lead on the development and embed the Council's recruitment and retention strategy and plans ensuring that the Council is an employee of choice which attracts and retains high calibre staff.
Develop, implement and promote the Council's employee offer which supports recruitment and retention, making the Council the employer of choice.
Review existing pay and reward policies for the Council. Identify areas for improvement and develop modern solutions which support the delivery of the workforce strategy and future ways of working.
Educated to degree or equivalent.
Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (MCIPD).
Significant post qualification experience in Human Resources including knowledge and experience of developing pay, reward and recognition policies and interventions.
Experience of consultation and negotiation in respect of policy, pay and reward within a union is environment.
Extensive knowledge of recruitment and retention solutions for a complex organisation with a diverse skills base.
Significant experience of working, senior managers, external agencies and other stakeholders.
Extensive knowledge and experience of policy development and processes and related professional practices.
Knowledge and experience of commissioning services through tendering processes and the management of contracts.
Significant experience of job evaluation schemes, concepts and principles.
Skills to develop effective working relationships.
Experience in leading a team of specialist staff.
