Recreation Ranger

Based at Kielder Forest as part of North District's recreation and communications team to support and co-ordinate recreation delivery and development at Kielder Forest and supporting Northumberland forests.

Inspect and maintain the facilities to national standards on sites focussed at Kielder Forest and supporting across Northumberland by working closely with colleagues both in and outside your immediate team. You will be required to use your own initiative and engage and supervise both volunteers and contractors where appropriate and will also be supported by the Recreation Public Affairs Manager and wider district team where necessary.

We would look to you to play an active role in managing, promoting and developing recreation facilities and opportunities on site, while supporting the site team and maintaining excellent relations with our on-site partners and concessions, operational teams and wider partners across Kielder Water & Forest Park.
Support events and permissions (including sporting competitions, filming productions, motorsport races and more) taking place across Northumberland Forests to ensure they are delivered safely without impacting operational workings of the forests where possible.
