Procurement Manager Nottingham GBP45,000-GBP55,000
Cherry Professional are delighted to be working exclusively with a well-established, Nottingham-based sport institution to recruit a dynamic and progressive Procurement Manager. With the autonomy to build a procurement function from the ground up, this is an excellent opportunity for an experience procurement professional to stamp their identity at an exciting time for the organisation.
Working closely with the newly appointed Finance Director, you will take autonomous control over the end-to-end procurement across all functions within the business. Working as part of a professional team, you will coordinate with directors, department heads and managers to drive best procurement practice business wide.
Key Responsibilities:
To drive best practice for procurement across the organisation by building positive working relationships with directors, department heads and managers.
Responsibility for producing and maintaining procurement policies and procedures.
Establishing a procurement system and strategy, playing a key role in the implementation of the new finance system in respect of the procurement functionality.
Devise & deliver training to new & existing staff on procurement practices and use of the purchase request/purchase order system.
Sourcing and purchasing a diverse range of products and materials to achieve quality, delivery and cost targets through effective supplier management.
Identify areas of quality improvement and cost savings across the whole organisation.
Establish supplier contracts for the bulk purchase of goods and negotiate advantageous commercial terms.
Establish preferred supplier lists for agreed categories and ensure compliance across the business.
Manage and develop the contracting process for major purchases including tendering, evaluation, negotiation, contract recommendation and award.
Lead and manage negotiations for strategic purchases and key suppliers to establish best value for money and quality within budget on favorable credit terms.
Co-ordination of provision of management information in relation to the procurement activity.
Produce reporting on procurement and purchasing processes to document compliance and identify failures to follow process.
The Ideal Candidate:
CIPS qualified or equivalent.
Relationship building & influencing skills vital.
Excellent negotiating & networking skills.
Demonstrates honesty, integrity, reliability and the ability to ensure confidentiality at all times.
Able to communicate to the highest level, listens, interprets and conveys information in a clear and accurate manner.
Works within a team environment, co-operates with others.
Ability to work autonomously on own initiative, pro-active in managing one s own time, building an understanding of the internal and external environment.
Excellent IT skills (including excellent MS Office - word, excel, PowerPoint).
Able to work to tight deadlines.
