Cook - Residential Home
(Adhoc) Part Time
Weekly Pay
Pertemps Isle of Wight are recruiting for a Cook to work in a busy Residential Home, on a temporary part time basis over the up-and-coming summer months. Although initially this is a temporary assignment, the role could become permanent for the right person.
The most important aspect of the role will be to prepare and cook varied healthy and nutritious meals for the house residents, at a high standard. Daily tasks will include, but will not be limited to:
" Menu development
" Collate regular feedback from residents regarding meal choices
" Stock control, rotation and ordering of supplies where appropriate
" Ensure safe use of catering equipment and report any defects when necessary
" Adhere to hygiene and cleaning procedures in accordance with environmental health standards
" Work to COSHH requirements, and ensure all COSHH assessments are kept under review
" Manage and keep within managing budgets
" Supervise the completion of all relevant records in relation to food safety.
Experience within a similar role is essential; the successful Cook must be able to:
" Communicate and interact well with people
" Cook meals in a large capacity
" Work well as part as a team
" Demonstrate empathy and understanding towards older people
" A certificate in Food Hygiene would be highly advantageous.
As the role is offered on a temporary part time basis, the successful cook will need to be flexible in their ways of working.
