We are looking for an Emissions Compliance Engineer to work with an international Automotive company with a manufacturing site based in Peterborough.
The successful applicant will be responsible for emissions legislative requirements globally, different challenges and lots of exposure globally, successful candidate will deliver change on how things are done within the team. The role will be Contract for a 12 Month duration with the potential to extend and also go to a permanent role.
Responsibilities will include:
Has an awareness/ understanding of compliance responsibilities associated with worldwide emissions regulations for diesel engines
Champion a strong understanding and proactive engagement of global (emissions) regulatory compliance requirements
Lead compliance improvement initiatives utilising existing data sources and systems
Support compliance processes for the UK ERC group and ensure alignment with >7.1 Litre team where appropriate
Ensure robust execution of compliance processes across all territories e.g., volume reporting, and mandatory conformity of production testing. Work closely with ERC India team in the governance and execution of these processes.
Support robust execution of the Exempt Engine Management Process (EEM)
Create robust, efficient process documentation and continuously improve those processes
Would consider people with less than 5 years of experience but rate will be reflected. With off-road or on-road vehicle engine experience would be considered
Skills, Attributes and Qualifications
Engineering Degree
Some understanding of emissions legislative requirements.
Strong knowledge of petrol or diesel engines.
Proficient in key IT software packages that drive efficient processes, the main one being Alteryx.
Ability to digest technical / regulatory issues, distil into clear appropriate guidance and champion / lead to resolution.
Strong moral compass. Has a passion for doing things right and to a high standard.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse functional areas, spanning Caterpillar's global manufacturing facilities and business centres
Confident and articulate communicator
There is flexibility for remote working, with a hybrid model, but must be able to get to the manufacturing site for two to three days a week.
