Emergency Call Dispatcher - NHS - (Training Given) - based onsite in Chelmsford

Shift Work, 4 days on, 4 days off - 12 hours a day
GBP11.53 an hour PAYE (weekdays), GBP14.99 an hour PAYE (evenings and Saturdays), GBP18.45 an hour PAYE (Bank Holidays and Sundays)

You will manage and initiate effective and efficient deployment and re-deployment of ambulance resources, in response to requests for service from the public, healthcare colleagues and public safety agencies, and also in accordance with the system status plan where appropriate.

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Form part of a team of Dispatchers who each provide management of front-line Trust resources over a specific geographical area.
2. To manage and deploy resources to (and during), emergency, urgent and routine incidents in accordance with national and local policy, procedure and protocol.
3. Manage and communicate with operational staff by assigning them to emergency, urgent and routine incidents and stand by points, using the system status plan as a guide to where resources should be positioned.
5. Utilise Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), clinical triage software, and Information Communication Technology (ICT); including radio, data, telephony, fax, and email, for effective communication with operational staff and other appropriate individuals.
Experience Required
Ability to multitask
Good short term memory
Effective written & verbal communication skills.
Customer service experience with effective listening skills. 4 GCSEs with C and above grades in Maths and English
Strong IT skills & computer literate
Experience of customer service/call centre/logistics environment would be desirable but not essential
