Are you an influential, highly organised and compassionate individual with a proven record of managing a team, including carrying out supervisions, performance reviews and personal development plans? Do you have experience of project management and of engaging positively with young people or other vulnerable groups?

If so, join St Giles Trust as our Telford Youth Violence and Exploitation Team Manager, where you will lead and

manage a team working on our vital new project that provides a mentoring-led service for young people under 18

years old who are involved in, or at risk of, youth violence, gangs and exploitation.

About St Giles Trust

An ambitious, well-established charity that helps people facing adversity to find jobs, homes and the right support they need. Central to our ethos is our belief that people with first-hand experience of successfully overcoming issues such as an offending background, homelessness, addictions and gang involvement, hold the key to positive change in others.

About this exciting opportunity

This key role will see you lead a team of Caseworkers based across Telford with a nurturing and flexible approach and will involve planning and supporting the day-to-day workload for the team, monitoring and reviewing probation periods, conducting annual performance reviews and reviewing ongoing personal development plans, and providing advice, guidance and support.

We will also count on you to develop and monitor processes to ensure clients receive the support the need and to ensure that staff produce risk management plans based on assessments, promoting inter-agency collaboration in the assessment and planning process. You will help to build positive relationships with young people and their families and work directly with them in order to promote positive change, build resilience, reduce risks and prevent young people from experiencing significant harm, plus provide practical support such as social and housing support, training and employment options, benefits work and debt advice.

As an organisation that works with children and adults at risk we are committed to safeguarding, protecting and promoting the safety of our clients. An Enhanced DBS with child barred list check will be required for the successful candidate.

What we are looking for

Experience of setting up and operating systems to monitor and report on work with clients
Proven record of engaging positively with young people or other vulnerable groups
Experience of providing support, advice and advocacy and the ability to assess clients' needs
Substantial experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures when thinking about children and young people involved in or at risk of violence or exploitation
Proven experience of working and managing a team effectively in a high intensity environment
Experience of managing project finances with multiple income streams and budget
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written

In return, you can expect a competitive salary, generous leave allowance, staff pension, flexible working, a mentoring programme, an advice and counselling service, childcare vouchers, season ticket loan and much more.

St Giles will guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria set out in the Job Description for the vacancy.
