Your New Role
We recently secured funding from the National lottery Heritage Fund to develop a project to restore and improve Victoria Park in Portsmouth.
As a result, we are looking to appoint an organised, enthusiastic and committed Volunteer and Training Coordinator to join the project team and assist with the delivery of the project s Activity Plan.
You will be responsible for implementing the council s existing Volunteering Policy and Good Practise Guide within Victoria Park, including the recruitment, supervision and appraisal process for a diverse range of volunteers, as well as managing the event diary for Victoria Park to ensure there are varied events available for different audiences.
What you ll need to succeed
You will ideally have a good understanding of the social and economic issues affecting communities in Portsmouth, as well as experience of working with volunteers in a heritage, culture or green space environment. You will also have knowledge of best practise in volunteer management.
You will be educated to GCSE level at grade C or above and ideally hold A leves and a relevant qualification or equivalent experience in volunteer management, events management and/or communications.
