Cook

We are currently looking for a Cook to work on a part time basis for a charity in Chislehurst. The service specialises in supporting people within health and social care and they are looking for a cook with knowledge and experience within cooking and those who have the desire to make a difference and feel passionate in what they do. The ideal candidate must be able to work alternative weekends, in return you will be given the opportunity to work among a friendly and bubbly team.
Job Purpose of a Cook:
Good cooking skills.
Ability to organise a catering environment.
Basic administrative skills.
Ability to supervise catering staff.
Basic nutrition knowledge.
Knowledge on Food and Hygiene regulations.
Understanding of Health and Safety regulations including COSHH regulations.
Experience of HACCP Risk Assessments.
Good spoken communication skills to relate well to staff and service users.
Basic written communication skills to leave written instructions and to follow a stock control system.
Must be able to demonstrate an understanding and awareness of Equality & Diversity.
Ability to work flexibly, responding to the needs of the service, ensuring that the home has staff cover, 365 days of the year.
Capability of working in a position that requires manual handling tasks as a core requirement.
