Prime Appointments are pleased to have partnered with an exceptional global insurance company looking for a Software Developer who can join their respected and friendly team at their company Ipswich waterfront office. You will also have the choice to work on a hybrid work from home basis of either 3-2 days in the office following your induction period.

This is an incredible opportunity to work for an employer with the goal to improve experience with insurance claims as a third-party administrator, providing risk management services for a range of clients within the Commercial and Local Authority sectors.

What would be my responsibilities as a Software Developer for this organisation? Joining the IT Services Team and working alongside the application development and maintenance team, you would:

• Develop and maintain web and desktop applications for use by both staff and customers (primarily web apps).
• Contribute to IT strategy by evaluating new technologies and methods.
• Assist with ensuring IT systems adhere to availability, performance, data integrity and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
• Provide readable and informative documentation on internally developed systems.
• Proactively identify enhancements to service offerings.
• Assist with the testing and deployment of software releases ensuring that release processes are followed correctly.
• Readily able to adapt development skills to make the most of new and emerging technologies.
• Work on integration pieces with Client systems.

It is essential for candidates to demonstrate:

• Strong web development skills including HTML5, JavaScript and JQuery.
• Excellent working knowledge of .NET Framework languages including ASP, C# and VB.
• Proficient in both XML and JSON data exchange formats.
• Working understanding of XML and REST Web Services.
• Use of .NET Linq, Generics, Extension methods.
• Working knowledge of Scripting languages such as Powershell and Windows Command Line.
• Solid understanding of web hosting technologies such as Apache and IIS.
• Experience of source control systems such as Git and SVN.
• Strong MS SQL skills including T-SQL queries, data normalisation and reporting.
• Understanding of S.O.L.I.D code design principals and patterns.
• Understanding of A.C.I.D database design principals and patterns.

Advantage to Have:

• Experience of working in an Agile/Sprint project environment.
• Worked with Microsoft Azure DevOps for Sprint tracking, Repository and Pipelines.
• Angular development experience (possibly AngularMaterial)
• Experience with TypeScript.
• VisualStudio Code or WebStorm for Angular UI development.
• Microsoft Azure Service Bus.
• Knowledge of .NET Core, Entity Framework Core
• Use of .NET lambda expressions
• Experience of developing REST APIs
