BS Social Care are currently working with a large childrens charity who are now recruiting for a Childrens Registered Home Manager within a residential setting caring for children who have different learning, physical and emotional needs. Some children have high level complex needs, including health and social needs and behaviours that can challenge.

About the job; the Registered Manager will have responsibility for the direct management of the children and young people and the management of the staff teams that support these children and young people to ensure that the highest standards of care are in place. To meet and promote the needs of the children and young people and provide opportunities to advance their opportunities and life experience in a positive manner. They will lead in the maintenance and development of the staffing team. In addition to ensuring the home is run in line with company policy and will hold responsibility to quality assure that care is delivered against The Childrens Regulations and Quality Standards to meet all of Ofsteds requirements. The Registered Manager will undertake a wide range of duties which will involve some direct and indirect care of children who have learning disabilities. They will be expected to work some shifts and work flexibly to meet the needs of the children and fulfil all health and safety requirements. They will provide part of the on-call service for the childrens homes alongside the management team and will have allocated on call days for which they are responsible.

You will also be responsible for a great and fun environment. This is a childs home, and the deserve the best. Not every day is going to be fun and games, but its definitely something we aim for. The children we care for have started their life in a difficult way, its our responsibility to now give them what every child should have.

Essential qualifications for the role;
- Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Children's Residential Services as a minimum level of qualification
- It would be desirable for the applicant to have one of the following Statutory Qualifications (if not then they will be required to work towards this):
- NVQ or QCF Level 5 in Leadership and Management OR Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services with Children and Young People Residential Management Pathway OR NVQ 4 Level 4 Leadership and Management combined with NVQ Level 4 Social Care and a Registered Manager's Award.

The Children's Services Manager person specification outlines some of the key skills and abilities, and the successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate:
- Experience working with children with diverse and complex physical and emotional needs is essential.
- Experience of leading therapeutic services would be advantageous.
- Extensive experience working within residential children's home settings, including time within a leadership or management role.
- A proven track record of safeguarding work with children within a multidisciplinary context.
- A sound understanding of the Children's Home Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
