HR Advisor
Salary GBP25,000 - GBP30,000, dependent on experience
39 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Based Dunstable
Our client has supported Airlines around the world for over 55 years. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor. This role is a wonderful development opportunity for someone who is looking to gain a wide range of HR experience, with career aspirations to become a HR Manager or Business Partner level.
It is necessary to have a commercial outlook, as the business is undergoing huge cultural, process and financial change. There is scope and opportunity to start at the beginning and build this department from the ground up, influencing right from the start and making your mark on the organisation.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and New Starters onboarding
- Designing, reviewing and updating job descriptions so they align with required skills, behaviours and knowledge required for that role.
- Managing all recruitment campaigns end to end and coordinating the appointment process for successful applicants.
- Advising Team Leaders and Managers on recruitment and selection strategies.
- Supporting hiring managers on candidate interview evaluation techniques and administering the full new starter onboarding process.
Employee Relations
- Leading and managing various capability investigations, including grievance and disciplinary and liaising with NatWest mentor for further guidance and ensuring compliance with insurance indemnity.
- Managing staff relationships, responding to any queries or problems that they have and managing their expectations.
- Monitoring, reviewing and updating all HR policies and procedures, the staff handbook and ensuring these are in line with current legislation.
- Keeping up to date with current people trends and HR industry insights.
- Negotiating terms and conditions of employment with staff.
- Providing advice and playing a major role in work reviews and change processes.
Performance Management
- Identifying development needs of key skills and behaviors to help drive the business forward.
- Researching and recommending performance evaluation methods (e.g. employee appraisal systems).
- Administering all performance-related activities to support the business to meet its targets and goals.
- Driving the business performance in relation to the organisation's objectives.
Any activities involved with payroll, benefits, project-based initiatives, reward and recognition, internal communications, social events, employee lifecycle, wellbeing and other ad-hoc / administrative duties such as the maintenance of all digital and hard copy employee records.
Skills / Experience
- A minimum of 2 years HR Assistant / HR Advisory experience
- Applicants must have excellent communication skills, a positive and professional outlook and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Must speak, read and write English.
- Solid understanding of computer systems and have experience using Outlook, Word and Excel with the ability to train and support others on new systems where required.
- Knowledge and understanding of work processes, volume, and characteristics associated with a manufacturing or aviation environment is preferred.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of GSCE education / qualification required to fulfil this role.
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 fully qualified is desirable but not essential.
