About the Rhodes Trust
The Rhodes Trust is an educational charity which offers Rhodes Scholarships to exceptional students from around the world to come and study at the University of Oxford. Our mission is to build a better world through global fellowship programmes that develop and connect compassionate, innovative, and public-spirited people committed to solving humanity s challenges.
In recent years, we have also partnered with several other remarkable organisations to create the Mandela Rhodes Foundation, the Atlantic Institute, the Schmidt Science Fellows, and our most recent initiative called RISE.
The role
This Fellowship will include working together with the Rhodes House Lifelong Programmes Team and an advisory group, chaired by Sir John Bell, to plan, coordinate and deliver this event. This is a unique opportunity to engage with international experts, host roundtable discussions and write policy papers that will impact the future of global health security.
The role will be responsible for;
Coordinating the advisory group meetings and working collaboratively with its members to set priorities for the summit agenda.
Hosting thematic policy roundtables and generating reports from these discussions.
Writing policy papers related to the Global Summit sessions and/or the policy roundtables.
Working with members of the Lifelong Programmes team to deliver the Global Summit, as well as other related events.
Work with other members of the GHSC, reporting to the GHSC project manager and Sir John Bell, in order to:
Contribute collaboratively to support the Principals and Directors in sustaining their mission to work at the intersection of science, policy and medicine.
Advise on new project ideas or workstreams by offering relevant topical knowledge and identifying gaps within the global health security agenda.
Work with other key personnel through the project lifecycle (i.e., project concept, design and implementation) by both executing and advising on specific tasks.
Engage with project-specific external stakeholders to build strategic relationships.
Work with experts at the University of Oxford and Rhodes Alumni, based on their area of expertise, and how it relates to specific projects.
