A highly successful UK based Manufacturing company are looking to appoint a Site Logistics Manager into their County Durham site.

GBP40,000 + additional, enhanced benefits

Job Description of a Site Logistics Manager

The Site Logistics Manager will be responsible for overseeing day to day operations within the warehouse and distribution facility, by ensuring the existing operational capability is maintained.

Longer term the role will require assessment of the current team and be a major instigator in the development of function systems and control. The person will be an integral part in the drive to ensure the business delivers on new projects and is ready to support sales with continued growth.

Typical duties involve:

* Responsibility for all site logistic operations including 3PL management

* Develop plans to increase efficiency and optimisation of Warehousing functions

* Monitor performance levels and costs of 3PL

* Ensure efficient use of Warehouse space and layout

* Health and Safety should be at the forefront of everything

* Communicate with customers and help resolve issues that may arise

* Attend and report at regular Management meetings

* Lead and motivate the team.

Skills & experience of a Site Logistics Manager

* Experience within a Warehouse environment in a management position

* Proven track record of managing operational change and delivering operational efficiency

* Strong leadership skills

* Ability to organise, prioritise, analyse, and work under pressure

* Experience using methodologies such as Kaizen and Lean techniques
