Keeping services safe and secure for our customers. That's when it hits home!

We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team as our Waking Nights Housing Concierge.

Our team look after our customers who have some quite complex backgrounds and support needs. They may have substance or alcohol dependence, offending or homelessness histories, and nearly all have mental health support needs.

Our customers each have their own room with shared kitchen facilities. We help our customers to develop and maintain independent living skills, so that they can successfully move on to their own independent accommodation.

As our Waking Nights Housing Concierge, you'll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our services. You'll ensure the safety and securing of our buildings and of our customers, and make sure we get on with our neighbours!

You'll get involved in lots of different jobs including monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to.

You'll look out for antisocial behaviour or any other risks and be supported to develop the skills to tackle any inappropriate behaviours!

You'll also provide out of hours cover, being the first point of contact for our clients during the evening and occasionally you'll do some general cleaning duties too.

Be yourself at Home

Home Group is committed to tackling prejudice and discrimination, not just for our customers, but for our colleagues too! We're super proud of our internal Diversity Networks and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) which support colleagues from different backgrounds to be their true selves. We recognise and celebrate our differences, !

About you

As our Waking Nights Housing Concierge, you're a real people person! You're passionate and happy to work with vulnerable people who are being supported to change their lives. You'll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

You may already work in a similar job, in housing with vulnerable adults or may have done so in the past. However, it's not a deal-breaker if you haven't. To be brilliant, you'll have a caring attitude, resilience and the desire to learn and make a difference!

If you're not the biggest fan of technology, that's not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high-tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However, we're happy to support you if you need help.

When you join, you'll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don't have a transferrable one.

About our team

Although you'll work waking nights, we do get together regularly in the daytime for training and team meetings. You'll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we're not just a team we're a 'work family'.

Our manager Sam has worked for Home Group for 13 years now, so is perfectly placed to support you when you join! Sam started as a support worker and has worked his way up to manager. Outside of work Sam loves his allotment and exploring Cornwall.
