Salary range GBP19,280 to GBP25,700 per annum (dependent upon experience)

39 days annual leave (including Bank Holiday and Company days) + 2 wellbeing days a year + weekly exercise and wellbeing hours

This is a home based role

We are the UK's official governing body for gymnastics. We believe gymnastics has the power to amaze like no other sport and we strive to help every gymnast experience this, amazing themselves and others along the way. By working closely with our members and partners we aim to lead, support and inspire everyone in gymnastics to do amazing things.

The Participation team are looking for a Disability and Inclusion Officer to drive inclusion through increasing opportunity and creating positive experiences for disabled people and other targets groups to take part in gymnastics.

As our Disability & Inclusion Officer you will be the subject matter expert (SME) for disability gymnastics and wider inclusive recreational gymnastics, having a thorough understanding of how gymnastics is delivered in different environments, working with colleagues, other departments and stakeholders to lead and support inclusive participation opportunities. You will also develop interventions, products and programmes and creating relationships with external disability and inclusive sport organisations.

The RoleThe main responsibilities of the role are:• Create and deliver a plan for the organisation that increases opportunities and creates positive experiences for participants who are disabled and/or from other underrepresented groups, aligning this to the Participation Plan and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) Plan and working with internal and external stakeholders.• Ensure work is contributes to the wider organisations ED&I plan and engages with internal stakeholder including the ED&I steering group and British Gymnastics Foundation• Maintain our relationship with the Disability Gymnastics Panel, helping them to develop annual delivery plans and provide support to their delivery particularly around competition pathway and development• Work to create positive role models within disability gymnastics and enhance the use of our disability specialists • Work in partnership with inclusive sport organisations (national and local) to implement inclusive gymnastics products into their landscape e.g. National Disability Sports Organisations. • Create and implement supporting product information, including product information sheets, FAQs, documentation, delivery guides and workshops to ensure internal staff and external inclusive sport organisations have all relevant product information. • Deliver training to staff or inclusive sport organisations on any new or development products to keep their knowledge as up to date as possible. • Offer alternative options to upskilling the staff or inclusive sport organisations to ensure they maintain a high level of knowledge on each particular product and can self-help to easily access information e.g. through webinars, workshops, practical orientations, videos. • Monitor and report on existing inclusive recreational gymnastics products and activities. Use insight to track any changing trends and needs of providers, maintaining the relevance of the product.• Conduct product reviews of existing inclusive recreational gymnastics products and work with the Recreational Gymnastics Manager to create product lifecycles for each individual targeted product linked to the departmental strategy.• Further details can be found in the Role Profile.

The PersonApplicants will need to demonstrate:• Good understanding of product and project management• Excellent understanding/knowledge of inclusive recreational gymnastics specifically across clubs, leisure centres and school environments• Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationship with colleagues/partners, giving and receiving constructive feedback, working collaborative across organisations and teams and influencing and negotiating skills to make sure products and delivered on time and within scope• Great communications skills for training, sharing knowledge with technical and non-technical audiences• An understanding or awareness of inclusion, disability and equality including lower social economic groups, diversity and women and girls.
