Door Technicians Required - great opportunity for a two-month contract with a large train maintenance provider for the right candidate - Contract Opportunity (inside IR35) GBP22 per hour (umbrella) with an additional GBP2 retainer to be paid at the end of the contract.

My client is currently looking to speak to candidates to take on the opportunity as a door technician - they are looking for someone experienced to carry out planned and preventative maintenance on door systems on rolling stock, rail experience highly desired but not essential.

Your New Organisation

You will have a fantastic opportunity to work for a large train maintenance business in the Cambridge area. With depot travel as a requirement of the post (travel covered).

Your new company are a large national train maintainer and have depots across the UK - with many contracts and projects underway and in the pipeline - this is a great opportunity for you to work with and potentially expand your network for the future.

Your New Opportunity

You will have the opportunity to join a national player in transportation/Rail industry, the opportunity for the right person is a full-time contract role for an initial 2-month period of time based at Cambridge but with travel to other depots as required, giving you an ideal opportunity to enhance your career.

You will be a key member of staff. Key duties include tasks such as:

Planned and preventative maintenance on door systems particularly on CL317 & CL321
Providing on depot technical support on these systems on customer sites
Working to keen timescales in line with SLA's by Team leader direction
Following VMI's and completing correct documentation
Upkeep s of H&S on site at all times
Assist in ensuring availability and reliability of rolling stock

You will ideally have experience in a rail/rollingstock technical engineering post and/or experience in an allied profession for example aviation or ex-forces environment

You will have experience and skills in door systems - ideally in CL317 & CL321 but not essential

You will have the following experience and qualifications:

Skills and experience

CL317 & CL321 experience or similar - maintenance, overhaul or fault diagnosis
Rail vehicle maintenance
A good understanding of depots and depot ops
Experience with engineering drawings/VMI's
Good understanding of using mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Good communication skills
Team worker
Qualification level

Minimum Level 3 mechanical or electrical engineering
NVQ Level 3 in Traction and Rolling stock or apprenticeship (desirable)
Full driving licence
