My client in Huntingdon is currently in need of a Maintenance Supervisor
My client manufactures aluminium honeycomb which is used in crash test barriers and composite panels. They also make crash test dummies (ATDs) using our machine and mould shop before they are tested and calibrated in the test lab.
The role:
As the team leader you will be overseeing and organising the maintenance team on a day to day basis. This involves co-ordinating the departments labour and skillset to carryout Routine maintenance, Breakdowns, Projects and any other plant-based tasks to agreed timescales and schedules.
Key tasks and responsibilities of the role are:
* Organise and support day to day tasks within the Maintenance team ensuring works are prioritised and completed accordingly.
* Assist production teams in looking at process improvements; modifying equipment in order to enhance manufacturing efficiencies and Health & Safety improvements.
* Assisting the Maintenance manager and Maintenance & Project coordinator with maintenance plans, systems for works, training and matrix updates.
* Support Maintenance Engineers by identifying and sourcing parts required to service equipment/machinery breakdowns.
* Assist in managing external contractors and their service level agreements in Maintenance co-ordinator's absence.
* Take on projects to support the plant Continued Improvement (CI), Chemical engineers and production teams as when required.
Requirements:
* Previous Managerial/Survisory experience within an engineering environment
* Strong Electrical/Mechanical Skills
* The ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics, using all your fault-finding skills
* You will be an effective communicator to your team and other managers,
* Making sure systems and paperwork are updated regularly with progress reports.
The Salary for the position is between GBP38,000 to GBP40,000 depending on experience.
