MedTeam are recruiting paramedics and nurses with previous custody experience, for exciting national opportunities.

As a Custody Healthcare Professional, you will work closely with the Police to look after the health, safety and welfare of detainees and support the criminal justice system.

The role includes:

* Conducting clinical assessments of detained persons to identify appropriate interventions and health and safety risks

* Determining whether or not an individual is fit to be detained or interviewed

* Conduct clinical assessments of victims or police officers/staff as required

* Taking bloods and intimate forensic samples

* Signposting & conducting referrals; offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending

* Working with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs

* Make recommendations regarding care regimes or referral to external health providers

* Maintain accurate and detailed records to provide evidence for cases and facilitate the effective prosecution of offences

* Maintain medical facilities within the custody suite, ensuring that sufficient supplies of medicines, drugs and equipment are maintained, to ensure the provision of high standards care.

What you need for the role:

* Right to work in the UK

* Continuously resided in the UK for the previous 3 years

* Active PIN & full membership with the HCPC/NMC with no restrictions on practice

* RGN, RMN, or Paramedic with previous custody experience

* Must hold current police vetting

Rates:

* GBP35ph (tax and NI deductions for PAYE, tax deducted at source for LTD company/under an umbrella company)
