Our client is looking for 2x Orthopaedic Booking Coordinators Band 3
Working Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm and the role is to start immediately.
Experience with Careflow would be preferred however training will be provided.
Oversee workload of Admin Support Clerk colleagues, delegating tasks appropriately to enable smooth operation of the booking process.
Work as part of a team, providing cross-cover when needed for any member of the department. Work flexible hours with other members of the team to maintain available cover during core department hours.
Support your line manager and colleagues to investigate and respond to complaints.
Be willing to undertake any relevant training for the role, including training on in-house IT systems.
Use daily electronic systems to ensure patients are booked appropriately and relevant information is accurate, complete and available when needed.
Communicate and negotiate with patients and relatives, on the telephone, in person and in writing, to make certain the surgery date is booked with patient agreement.
Ensure patients and relatives understand information conveyed regarding surgical admission.
Meet weekly with Speciality Consultants to ensure cases and patients are booked to appropriate lists, whilst adhering to the Trust policy on Elective Access, Booking and Choice of Date and other guidelines and targets.
Understand and interpret Trust waiting list information, and utilise this to ensure that speciality operating lists are booked appropriately and in target timescales.
Monitor and update speciality wait list information as work progresses, and provide feedback to the responsible manager.
Understand and utilise a good working knowledge of national Referral To Treatment (RTT) rules and Cancer waiting times. Maintain knowledge of local and regional variations, including Interventions Not Normally Funded (INNF) and Independent Sector outsourcing/transfer guidelines.
Ensure that theatre lists are booked to full capacity, maximising theatre time efficiency. Analyse and report any shortfalls to the responsible manager before problems escalate.
Ensure each patient is booked on to an appropriate Pre-Operative Clinic where required.
Work to deadlines to have theatre lists booked at least three weeks in advance.
Replace patients into theatre slots that have been cancelled at short notice, negotiate and maintain a pool of patients available at short notice.
