The Project Engineer must successfully support and deliver technical projects to fulfil the company's commitments in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, striving for customer satisfaction and a safety first culture.
The Project Engineer will demonstrate both technical and commercial aptitude in the delivering of specialist projects (mainly within the UK Water Industry) and must have a committed and flexible 'can do' attitude to undertaking a multi-functional technical project role.
They will be responsible for minor projects and/ or supporting larger projects to meet the delivery expectations of the scope and company needs. They will be able to provide technical guidance to junior staff site teams and able to produce written guidance and convey that information to others. They will be expected to actively manage site activities and ensure site adheres to project and H&S compliance.
This role will require the ability to effectively liaise with internal staff (both senior and junior) and external clients / contractors in a polite, professional and courteous manner.
Operating within a small project management team there will also be a requirement to travel for site surveys, site visits, meetings, etc as well as undertake technical works as required depending on the scope.
Typical (non-exhaustive) duties may include: -
* Undertake specialist technical works to delivery all or part of a project as required
* Assisting other Project Management or departmental staff as required
* Managing project-related correspondence, schedules, plans, deliverables and documentation as required
* Planning and purchasing materials / sub-contractors as required
* Planning resource availability, and skills requirements liaising with internal staff to secure multi-disciplined internal labour
* Manage site activities and provide support and guidance to site staff as needed
* Regular liaison with client representatives
* Adjusting projects priorities and milestones based upon the customer's changing needs
* Providing regular feedback on operational issues / concerns to stakeholders and senior managers
* Monitoring project budgets and assisting with data for commercial invoicing
* Ensuring that all Health & Safety processes and procedures are followed
The Project Engineer will also have the following responsibilities: -
* Ensure the safety of all employees, it's clients and the general public
* Ensure that all Company Policies & Procedures are adhered to
* Uphold the Company's brand name & reputation and ensure it is not damaged
* Follow the procedures as laid out within the Integrated Management Systems of the company
* Maintain company confidentiality as required

* Technical background, preferably electrical
* SSSTS minimum
* Ability to organise and manage time effectively
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to work well with other teams within the company
* Ability to show good leadership
Desirable Skills
* Strong technical knowledge in electrical, mechanical and instrumentation disciplines
* Electrical qualifications
* Budgetary management
