We are currently recruiting on behalf of a GBP7.0M turnover company and a market leader in the supply and service of high security gates, barriers and access control systems. Due to year on year growth the company are seeking gate and barrier engineers with an electro-mechanical background with some experience in a service and maintenance role. You must possess an ability to problem solve, work on your own initiative whilst demonstrating excellent communication skills both written and verbal. This is both a challenging and exciting opportunity to work at a company that invests in R&D and its staff. Experience is an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
- Workshop based
-Assembly of gates, barriers and control panels
- Hydraulic and Electro Mechanical experience an advantage
-Testing of systems
- Complete a nine-point force test and report any failure immediately to the office.
- Accurately complete workshop related reports.
- Offer competent technical assistance when required.
- Ensure each job is completed within the allocated time allowed.
- When required, carry out fault diagnosis and accurately identify components which are faulty.
- Ensure the compliance of company procedures, such as Health and Safety; Environmental; Quality for all areas under your direct control.
- Housekeeping of all elements including stock, equipment and processes to the highest possible standard in order to portray a professional image.
- Display a proactive, can-do attitude within the organisation, with a culture of right first time and ownership of problems.
Applicant Requirements:
- You must have an electro-mechanical background and ideally hold a relevant qualification (mechanical, electrical or electronic). - Experience within a workshop role.
- Strong technical background with the ability to fault find, diagnose and carry out repairs.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- IT Literate. - Full clean driving license.
- Flexible approach to work
- willing to travel within the South East.
