What is on offer?

* 1 year fixed term contract starting across July/August

* Salary on offer depending on experience GBP31,534 - GBP34,291

* 20 - 24.5% employers pension contribution or you can choose to be part of our clients partnership scheme where after your year's employment this can be transferred to your pension provider

What is the role?

* Supporting three departments that include Academics and Researchers, Visitor Experience along with the Enterprise Team (around 220 employees, numbers vary on time of year and projects)

* Acting as a single point of contact to the leaders and providing them with support and your professional advice

* Managing key stakeholders and forming strong relationships

* Partnering with Training and Development, Resource Partners along with H & S Management

* Driving line manager support and guidance for them to deal with daily employee relations

* Developing and regularly updating people policies and procedures

* Proactively share knowledge and information, technical expertise, and best working practice

* Support role design and undertake role evaluation

* Influencing, challenging, and coaching Directors, Leaders, and Managers

* Managing and prioritising a busy workload

* Maintaining up to date knowledge of employment legislation, people policies and HR best practice

* Managing relationships with external parties including Trade Unions and governing bodies across the UK

What is our client looking for?

* Experience in the above responsibilities and knowledge that is the equivalent to CIPD Level 5

* Strong interpersonal skills

* Be able to influence and work with people at all levels

* PC literate Word, Excel and Outlook

* Ability to build up relationships both internally and externally

* Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
