Conrad Connect are pleased to be working with a successful Property business based on the outskirts of Southend on Sea who have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their successful finance team on permanent basis. This excellent opportunity is to support the Finance Director in a hands on exciting full-time position.
The successful candidate will have previous Accounts experience gained form a similar position within the property industry and will have good Excel knowledge.
Work with a variety of Senior Managers and ensure that all service budgets are set for each property in a timely manner, allow for consultation with tenants and leaseholders and make sure all budgets are updated prior to invoices being issued
You will track specific spend against budgets, undertake mid-year reviews and report to directors as appropriate to ensure properties have sufficient funds to meet the projected needs
Complete the end of year review of actual costs, discuss with individual Managers, Directors and Freeholders as appropriate and issue end of year adjustments and documentation to tenants and leaseholders within the required timescales as set out in the leases and current legislation
You will assist with credit control and resolving accounting queries relating to service charge matters
Support the wider finance team as required to cover holiday
The ideal candidate will have:
Have at least 2 years' experience in dealing with service charge budgets and accounts for residential or commercial properties
Confidence in using multiple systems
Be competent in the use of electronic systems, including MS Office
Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, able to communicate concisely on material under/overspends with a view to reducing queries raised in response
Great management and organisational skills
