**Job Summary**

No two days are ever the same in our fast-paced environment, and joining our CADD team in Saffron Walden, UK will see you provide scientific excellence to influence and impact upon drug discovery programs. In partnership with other senior scientific leaders, your extensive CADD experience will help to shape the future scientific strategy in CADD and medicinal chemistry. You will be a positive role model with a demonstrated ability to inspire and mentor the next generation of CADD scientists within Charles River.

*Responsibilities*
CADD discipline leadership within multiple integrated projects, using expertise and skills to influence project direction and strategy
Project leadership of dedicated computational chemistry projects, delivering on objectives, managing resources, finances and client communication
To provide broader scientific leadership, mentoring others and helping to define future scientific direction
To identify and implement new technologies to enhance capabilities within CADD and medicinal chemistry
Act as CADD lead within business development activities, preparing proposals and presenting to prospective clients
Promote high scientific visibility of Discovery capabilities, both internally and externally

*Candidate Profile*
A first degree or equivalent in chemistry or a closely related subject
A PhD in a field of relevance to molecular modelling
Extensive CADD experience, with a minimum of 10 years within a drug discovery environment supporting projects across different phases of drug discovery
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
A dynamic and flexible approach towards achieving client-based objectives, and demonstrable ability to deliver on multiple projects simultaneously and meet challenging deadlines
A strong track record of scientific leadership and exceptional problem solving skills that has impacted positively on the delivery of drug discovery projects
An active interest in new technologies, with a drive and passion to innovate and integrate them into common practice
