We are currently seeking to recruit Trainee Property Maintenance Operatives/Engineers in London.
Rydon's apprentice scheme allows for you to earn whilst you learn - it's a great scheme to pick up new practical skills whilst developing a formal, recognised qualification. Furthermore, Rydon will pay your college/further education fees and help you in securing a qualification whilst working in your chosen field.
Rydon provides a range of expert maintenance services to domestic property and commercial buildings in the social housing, health and social care sectors. We look after over 35,000 homes for registered providers and several hundred buildings across 20 NHS Trusts throughout the country. We ensure properties are well maintained, efficient and fit for purpose, using the latest technology to ensure repairs are completed promptly.
Job Purpose
We are currently seeking to recruit Trainee Property Maintenance Operatives to work on our prestigious London housing contract in Brockley. We provide responsive day to day repairs, property refurbishment, and electrical and gas servicing for our customers living in 2,000 homes across the borough. Join Rydon Maintenance as an Apprentice and you will be joining a well-established property maintenance business.
So how does the apprenticeship scheme work?
As an Apprentice Property Maintenance Operative you will learn all about what it takes to make sure our customers' homes are maintained to a high and safe standard. You will be assigned a mentor, who will work with you to develop your on the job experience. You will work directly within one of our teams, learning Rydon's approach to property maintenance. At the same time, you will study part time (usually on a day release to college basis) and your mentor will support you in your college/further education through providing advice practical tips to help you succeed in attaining an industry recognised qualification and a long term career at Rydon.
You will learn a wide range of trade skills such as Carpentry, Plumbing, Plastering, Tiling, Decorating, minor Electrical work and appropriate health and safety training. Along the way you will develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours you will need to carry out general maintenance, provide excellent customer service, to working with external contractors and providing first response to fault finding.
Your learning journey is in your hands and Rydon will work with you to provide some of the industry's best on the job training and development - you're in great hands
At the end of the Apprenticeship, you will gain a Level 2 accreditation as a Property Maintenance Operative. Additionally, you may then have the opportunity to continue your learning and specialise in a further plumbing trade qualification.
Experience Required
To be considered for these exciting opportunities you will need to have a minimum of GCSE (grade C/Level 4 or above) in Maths and English. Candidates without this will still be considered but will need to pass a functional skills test in maths and English.
In addition you'll need to be inquisitive by nature, be confident and happy to work with lots of different people and be looking for a long term career in property maintenance .
