Swanstaff Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef for a school based in Woodbridge.
The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background and be highly motivated to provide the best food from scratch for pupils, school staff and guests. You must have an enhanced DBS to be put forward for this role.
Job Role:
You will be working alongside the Chef team and under the direction of the Executive Chef. You will be responsible for the preparation, organisation and portioning of the food service whilst meeting the customer expectations, food and hygiene standards and financial targets. You will be expected to ensure that food stock levels are kept to minimum and complete requisition forms for stock replenishment. You will be acting as the daily service point of contact and ensure all of the Culinary team are aware of their day to day duties.
40 hours per week. Plus 4 additional hours to be worked flexibly per week, 52 weeks per year.
Between 26,000 - 29,000 depending on experience.
Qualifications/Experience:
Relevant catering qualifications is essential
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable
1-2 years experience of producing high quality menus to varied consumers is essential
Previous experience in a school environment is desirable
Experience of assisting with the management compliance to the Health & Safety regulations is essential
Experience in managing a team and budgetary control is essential
Enhanced DBS is essential
Skills:
Good verbal and written skills are essential
Well developed organisational skills are essential
Ability to motivate staff working within a multi-site environment is essential
Personal Qualities
Customer focused and committed to customer satisfaction
Ability to be flexible and dynamic to meet business needs
Work well under pressure and ability to remain motivated
Ability to work flexibly through the year, including evenings and weekends where required
