We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive Software Engineer for our client based within their IoT and Digital Operations Department at their impressive site in Telford. This position is offered as a full-time, permanent position. Working a day shift with flexi time available. The salary bracket for this role is GBP35,000 - GBP50,000 depending on experience, plus benefits. A relocation package may also be considered for someone willing to relocate to the Telford area.

This position present a unique opportunity to be involved with a brand new innovation as such we are seeking someone with Front End development skills to assist in the creation of a brand new "connected factory" concept.
The IoT and Digital operations department develop innovative software and data applications that optimise and connect the factory. Ensuring contribution to key challenges such as the Circular Economy. This role will lead software development projects developing innovative software solutions that target improvement initiative across the business to support the connected factory ambition. Whilst ensuring other software projects are aligned to enhance the commercial and customer facing software offering. In some cases, software applications will be developed as a commercial offering or integrated as a broader customer specific automation

Requirements within the role:
Lead software development
* Required to lead the design and development of software solutions that optimise internal business processes and factory automation systems
* Required to work as part of a multi-disciplined DevOps and Engineering team to manage the Software Development Lifecycle ensuring high levels of focus and responsibility for software security, functionality, applied technology, and scalability with an awareness of the cost of ownership
* Responsibility for change management and documentation are also crucial parts of the role
Lead Latest Software innovations:
* Spend significant time researching and self-learning the latest software technologies and approaches that will continue to support and direct the software development strategy
* As a subject specialist, actively engage with leading technology companies and institutes to understand trends that can support strategy development
Keys skills & attributes:
* Ideally educated to degree level within a Computer Science, Electronics or Software Engineering Field
* Ideally some previous experience in a similar role , ideally with knowledge and experience of software development
* Must be committed to own CPD to update on technical and professional expertise
* The ability to operate as a technical expert and be able to apply analytical and innovative approach to solving complex technical problems
* Must be a self-motivated, pro-active and strong team leader
* Web Development skills are essential, preferably with experience in JavaScript using React libraries. Knowledge of object-orientated programming (C#, JavaScript) would also be beneficial
* Demonstrable project management skills with the ability to be self-managing and work to tight deadlines
