Product Applications Scientist

I have been appointed to find a product based Applications Scientist/Specialist for a company moving to new offices in Redhill as part of an ongoing expansion program.
As part of the sales and marketing team you will lead the applications support within the business, reporting directly to the Sales and Marketing Director. You will have direct contact with customers, providing application support both to end users, the sales team and technical support.
Key areas of responsibility:
* Developing and writing application notes
* Researching scientific papers that reference company products and reporting on new and interesting applications and markets
* Work with key opinion leaders to understand their requirements for the next generation of products and feed this into the NPI process
* Writing product brochures and data sheets
* Updating and improving the Product User Guides - working with tech support
* Making direct contact with key users and collaborating with them to develop application notes and stories
* Writing white papers to be published in trade journals and company web site
* Working with the Sales and Marketing team and external marketing agencies
* Attending exhibitions and conferences to promote products
* Working with agents and distributors to provide product and application training, ensuring they can present and demonstrate our products professionally
* Answering customer enquiries as required
* Providing cover for technical support as required
* Maintain excellent customer relationships post sale
* Run customer samples and provide quality reports to help the sales process as required
Some travel, both in the UK and overseas will be required.
Requirement:
* Science Graduate or 1-2+ years' experience in a R&D/Laboratory environment
* Native level Fluentcy English - written & verbal
