Join our Digital Technology Services team as a Platform & Infrastructure Operations Engineer on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, our successful candidate will be responsible for progressing and resolving reported incidents that cannot be resolved by 1st/2nd line teams and require a higher level of technical knowledge and experience to resolve issues. We need your knowledge and expertise to assist with project tasks and work to finding root cause and the resolution. Digital and technology Services deliver critical business applications that are vital to the support and successful completion of business operations performed by Functions in meeting the Strategic Objectives of Seetec. Bringing a new focus to understanding and supporting the business functions will be key in exploiting technology to deliver positive business outcomes.

You'll ideally be able to demonstrate good experience in a 3nd Line Analyst/Engineering or Senior Service Desk role preferably working within a large Local Authority or with a Service Provider. You'll also have an in-depth knowledge of the capabilities of Windows server (Apply online only)), desktop operating systems (10/11) and Microsoft 365/Azure ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

•Handling complex incidents requiring a high level of technical knowledge and, or, involving multiple suppliers according to agreed procedures to restore services quickly, maintaining the quality and consistency of the service to minimise business disruption, enhance the customer experience and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
•Updating the knowledge repository with solutions, allowing faster fixes for repeat requests.
•Facilitating recovery to normal operation in complex service environments involving multiple suppliers; following resolution of incidents ensuring business services are operating normally to ensure customer satisfaction.
•Ensuring that resolved incidents are properly documented and closed in order that normal business operation resumes, is confirmed, and ensure lessons learned can be acted on to support future service improvements
•Analysing the causes of technically complex, multiple supplier incidents, and informing service owners to minimise probability of recurrence and contribute to service improvement ensuring continuity and effectiveness of business operations. In other words, flagging repeat requests as Problems - taking action to anticipate similar issues and eliminate them in advance
•Analysing metrics and reports on performance of the incident/service request management process in support of simplification and continual service improvement to ensure minimal disruption in the business environment.
•Performing tasks such as operating system upgrades, patch application, firmware upgrades, hardware upgrades and other tasks to support the computer and telephony (VOIP) network

Skills and Experience

ESSENTIAL
•Educated to Degree level or equivalent by experience
•Able to demonstrate good experience with SCCM and Intune.
•Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with computer hardware and software, networking equipment and VoIP equipment
•Foundation knowledge of local and wide area networks, including wireless technologies, network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, Ethernet.
•Certified Microsoft technician
•Must demonstrate a track record of working within effective teams delivering high quality Service Management Services that have been proved successful in meeting complex business requirements and in enabling standardisation, simplification, sharing and re-use
•Able to demonstrate a clear understanding and capability to work within relevant ICT related standards including IITIL V3, ISO/IEC 38500, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 22301,

DESIRABLE
•Experience of developing systems in line with GDS and Cyber Security Group guidelines
