ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION- South Oxfordshire
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- GBP27,000- GBP32,000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience)
My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design & Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the Oxfordshire area.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
Degree qualified or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
3 years' or more experience working in a similar hands on Mechanical Design position
Proficiency with using 3D CAD; ideally SolidWorks but other software will be considered
Have the ability to select the correct engineering components and materials
Previous experience working in a development environment working within a team
Previous experience of working with special purpose machine assemblies, test rigs or precision tooling would be desirable
The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
Flexible to travel to travel outside of the UK as part of the role
Full UK Driving LicenceThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
Designing prototype production tooling, test rigs, machine parts and equipment in an engineering development environment using SolidWorks
Taking projects from brief through to the full design solution and then to final validation
Meeting deadlines and targets that are set
Conducting product testing
Working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
