We have exciting opportunities for skilled Researchers to design and carry out research activities with DWP users.

You'll help our expert digital teams get a deep understanding of the people that use government services

You will work as part of agile, multidisciplinary team. You'll plan and design user research programmes, testing both high level concepts and specific aspects of a service as it is designed and developed.

Your research will inform policy, proposition, service, content and interaction design so that we design services really work for our users, whether they're looking for work, seeking advice and support, or accessing payments.

Your Essential Skills

  • You understand basic user research methods, and how to use them in collaboration with your team.
  • You have experience in applying Agile principles in practice.
  • You're a good communicator, and can bring visibility to problems and outcomes
  • You analyse and use qualitative and quantative data to turn user focus into outcomes and recommendations
  • You identify and engage with users and stakeholders to collate user needs evidence, and understand and define research which fits user needs.

You'll join us at one of our brilliant digital hubs in either Newcastle, London, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield or Blackpool

In return for your skills, we pay up to GBP40,666 per annum for Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Blackpool or GBP45,018 per annum for London.

You'll also get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions up to 27%, plus a generous leave package starting at 26 days, rising over time to 30 days (based on your working pattern).
