Construction Health & Safety Officer - Site Inspector
London - with weekly travel to Lewisham and regular travel to Hyde Development Sites throughout London & South East (Site-Based)
£38,700 - £45,000

Hyde is looking to recruit a Site Inspector to focus on our Construction projects.
The Hyde Group is one of the UK’s largest owners and developers of affordable housing. We have the funding in place to deliver 10,000 new homes over the next 5 years.
As a Site Inspector, you will be responsible for independent site inspections to review quality of workmanship and specification against contract, along with ensuring health and safety of site and operatives is being always adhered to.
You will also report on findings at sites across the Hyde regions to the Project Manager to record and address at site meetings, whilst working alongside the Clerk of Works and Employers Agent to ensure Hyde’s standards are met.
Responsibilities
- Support the construction team by carrying out regular visits and inspections of sites throughout the construction phase to check on health and safety and quality of build.
- Contribute to the review of ER’s to ensure appropriate quality and health and safety provisions are included.
- Provide monthly reports on site quality and health and safety for senior management team.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to include Project Managers, Technical Managers and Employers Agents.
- Strong communication and negation skills required to ensure Hyde’s quality and health & safety requirements are adhered to.
- Working with the project managers to ensure all principal contractor and principal designer requirements are met.
- Ensure that the development remains compliant with the relevant construction and procurement related legislation, Building Regulations and CDM requirements, through key stage inspections and Project Team Working.
- Contribute to the review of contractor performance through post completion reviews.
Candidates will need to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of building technology and compliance with Building Regulations, NHBC/Premier/LABC, GLA/Homes England and other relevant housing standards.
