Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a 1:1 ESOL tutor in the Brighton & Hove area. We have seen an increase in unaccompanied asylum-seeking minors (UASM) requiring tuition.
Most of these young people have little or no English and often have had limited education in their home countries. However, some UASM will have a sound subject knowledge but are limited by their spoken and written English. Ideal applicants will be able to support both types of pupils.
Tuition will occur within school hours at either the pupils' home environment or school.
What you'll need to succeed:
Recognised teaching qualification with QTS
Ability to teach ESOL and willingness to support with Maths should it be needed
Empathetic, approachable, and mental resilience
Ability to drive
A valid and current child workforce DBS on the update service (or a willingness to apply for one)
In return you will get
Up to GBP25p/h (PAYE)
Weekly pay
Flexible working pattern - perfect for those with a busy schedule
Full time or part time availability - dependent on your lifestyle
Local and regular work
Making a profound difference to those who need help the most
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role as well as the Right to Work in the UK. Please see (url removed)/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We undertake safeguarding checks on all workers in accordance with DfE statutory guidance 'Keeping Children Safe in Education'. We offer all our registered candidates FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
