My client is a leading contractor operating within the passive fire protection market, delivering fire door installation and fire compartmentation projects. Due to a period of successful growth and a number of contract wins, they are looking to recruit a Health & Safety Advisor to join their national team.

This is a regional role supporting offices in the South / South West of the UK. Your ideal location would be around Reading, Swindon or Oxford. This is not a prerequisite, just a central location to the patch.

You will work closely with the operations teams and their workforce to deliver projects for both Public and Private Sector clients including Councils, Housing Associations, Commercial Developments, Student Accommodation, Hotels & Leisure, Social Housing, Healthcare, Education and Facilities Management.

We are looking to recruit a Health & Safety professional that is enthusiastic, collaborative and holds construction-based knowledge. The role is new within the company and will give you autonomy and influence to make the role your own.

You will have strong communication and mentoring skills to help develop onsite operations and a passion for leading on new and innovative projects. The role is to cover a nationwide area, so travel and overnight stay is expected. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with the Head of Health & Safety and have an opportunity to shape the company's Health & Safety vision.

Regional Health and Safety Advisor Key Responsibilities:

Supporting Contracts Managers & Supervisor
Continuous Personal Development
Driving solutions and improvements to our Health and Safety processes and procedures
Increase SHE culture by leading on initiatives
Improving Health and Safety paperwork
CDM advise and compliance
Improving Health and Safety KPIs such as near-miss reporting, site inspections and Tool Box Talk
Assessing members of the Operational teams training and qualification needs
Internal Health and Safety Training
Conducted site audits & office inspections and manage the closeouts of the actions.
Attend monthly meetings and pre-start meetings
Develop toolbox talks and deliver to support onsite operations
Providing Health and Safety advice, mentoring and coaching to the Operational
Carry out accident and incident investigation and produce a report with root cause analysis
Monthly SHE reporting to the Head of Health & SafetyRegional Health and Safety Advisor Experience:

You will have previously worked in construction
Professional qualification in occupational health & safety/construction - NEBOSH or Equivalent
Full UK Driving Licence
Support the development of onsite documentation
Carrying out incident investigations
Training, coaching and mentoring operational teams
Health & safety process and procedure
Health & safety legislation
Audit experience
Knowledge and understanding of 45001, 9001 & 14001 - Desirable
CSCS Card - DesirableRegional Health and Safety Advisor Salary & Benefits:

This is a permanent, full-time role for which you will receive an excellent salary of up to GBP39K + Benefits (depending on experience), along with additional benefits including: 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) + paid Christmas Shutdown, 5% employer pension contribution, death in service benefit (4 x salary), training and development opportunities, flexible, family friendly working environment and Team/company events and competitions.
