Assistant / Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Assistant / Trainee Quantity Surveyor required in Essex

GVR Solutions are currently working with a small sized business based in Essex, turning over around GBP5m a year. They are looking to expand their current commercial team by recruiting an Assistant / Trainee Quantity Surveyor either with a Joinery or Fit out bias.

Projects they entertain are Fit Out, Design & Build, Renovation & Refurbishment, in the Commercial, Residential & Education sectors, across London & the South East. A large portion of their works are repeat business, being chosen over larger contractors due to their ability in handling high-end projects while remaining flexible and responsive to challenges, completing on time and within agreed budget.

As the Assistant / Trainee Quantity Surveyor you will:

* Ensure the commercial targets are achieved including project and programme cost, quality and time

* Assist in establishing a client's requirements and undertake feasibility studies

* Analyse progress and reporting

* Assist the costing of the project, budgeting, and cash flows

* Carry out measurement for valuations

* Prepare summary reports for the client and other stakeholders

* Identify opportunities and risks

* Attend post tender and pre-contract meetings

The Assistant / Trainee Quantity Surveyor must have/be:

* Already qualified or currently studying for a Quantity Surveying/Construction Degree or equivalent

* Any construction experience is a bonus but not necessary

* Carpentry / Joinery experience is advantageous

* CSCS card ideal but not a necessity

* Must be computer literate

* Full driving licence ideal
