Our Public Sector client, responsible for the running of a historic tourist attraction, has an immediate requirement for Stewards to join their team on an immediate basis. This is a temporary requirement, which will be reviewed on a monthly basis, but could run until the end of September 2022. You will work as part of visitor centre team responsible welcoming visitors to the site, operating tills within the admission and retail area and ensuring high standards of presentation throughout the site through undertaking duties as part of the cleaning rota.
We can offer part-time hours between Sunday to Wednesday. Usual working hours are 09:15 - 17.39 (7hrs 24mins per day) - occasional early start or later finish may be requested, but will be agreed with the successful candidate in advance.
Main duties would include:
Pro-active interaction with visitors to the site, assessing their individual needs and answering enquiries.
Ensure all areas of the visitor centre are presented and maintained to the high standard as outlined in the site checklists.
Operate tills within the retail and admissions areas
Manage shop and toilet queues
Keeping all designated parts of the car park clean and tidy.
Ensure that the health and safety of staff, visitors and contractors is paramount at all times.
Skills/Experience required:
Previous experience operating a POS till, cash handling - preferred
Previous experience working in tourism/customer service
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communication skills
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Hold a Basic Disclosure issued within last 12 months
Due to the location of this role, having your own transport is desirable.
