Hours: Full-Time and Part-Time Hours Available

Salary Details: GBP10 per hour

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated, passionate and driven to become part of our Kitchen and catering team at Roborough House in Woolwell, Plymouth.

The Service:

Roborough House works to maximise the independence of service users who have experienced serious brain injuries, or who have other significant neurological conditions which require high levels of specialist support. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission to provide nursing and residential care. Care and support is delivered by a team consisting of nurses, an occupational therapist, a physiotherapist, an aromatherapist and a team of experienced support workers. In addition, a team of rehabilitation assistants' work with service users on focused activities designed to promote independence and mitigate the impact of long-term conditions.

The Job Role:

As a Chef within our hospital, you will be required to prepare traditional home cooked meals from scratch whilst catering for a range of special dietary requirements. You will be required to work within the company's policies and procedures whilst ensuring high levels of health and safety. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of food hygiene with a can-do attitude and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare traditional home cooked meals from scratch, and catering for special meals and dietary requirements
Working safely within the company policies and procedures
Excellent knowledge of food hygiene
Knowledge of food ordering
Stock rotation
Baking cakes, muffins and treats
Interacting with residents and meal planning with them
Covering sickness and holiday
Alternative weekends
Working and planning alongside head chef
Working alongside the wider, multi-disciplined hospital team to ensure high levels of service and care at all timesThe Successful candidate for the role will have:
