Rate of Pay:
GBP26,000 - GBP30,000 per annum (dependant on eperience)
Contract Type:
Permanent Contract - immediate start
Shifts:
45 hours per week
This role will require weekend cover and occasional Class 2 driving, multi-drop delivery, will be expected.

About You
We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Transport Supervisor to join our well-established team based in Bothwell, Glasgow. Our distribution team play a crucial part in daily operations, and your role will be vital in ensuring legal compliance, as well as providing leadership to all Drivers and Van Assistants, resulting in a smooth and efficient delivery service to our loyal customers.
You will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment. You will be a natural team player and possess a true commitment to customer service, with a keen desire to deliver and maintain our high standards at all times.
Typical Duties / Tasks
You will take responsibility for all Drivers and Van Assistants within the Transport team. You will also ensure that all routes are planned, taking into consideration both EU and WTD legislative requirements. You will work in partnership with the Warehouse Manager to safeguard the loading / routing of all vehicles. You will also support the Transport & Operations Manager with regards to adherence of legal compliance for both Drivers and vehicles, and you will be proactive in terms of maintaining excellent levels of customer service.

Ensure compliance of Operator License requirements in all areas of the Transport department, in partnership with the Transport & Operations Manager

Recruitment and Induction of new Drivers / Van Assistants
*
Ensure Drivers complete daily walk-around vehicle checks and record all defects accurately
*
Liaise with the Warehouse Manager to ensure vehicles are correctly and safely loaded and can leave the Depot at the scheduled time
*
Action all vehicle defects for repair and complete required documentation
*
Inspection of all vehicles to maintain standards of hygiene, both inside and out
*
Management of PMI, service, MOT, etc. for all vehicles as required via planned maintenance schedules
*
Conduct weekly download of driver digital tachograph cards
*
Driver scheduling: planning for routes, absence cover etc.
*
Conduct spot-checks on a weekly basis to ensure driver compliance of Digital Tachograph and Driver Qualification Cards
*
Report any vehicle damages, ensure completion of accident reports and relevant repairs to be undertaken
*
Implement non-conformity procedures where appropriate
*
Review stock control records overages, shortages, damages, loss and consumables
*
Deliver products in a timely and efficient manner to our customers throughout Scotland when required
*
Deal with handball and pallet deliveries upon arrival at customer site, ensuring that no damages occur whilst in transit, or at point of delivery
*
Collection of payments from customers, ensuring that receipts are completed accurately, as well as safe storage of all collections
*
Promote good housekeeping standards throughout Transport area and yard
*
Escalate any driver or vehicle concerns to the Transport & Operations Manager.
What You'll Need
*
Transport Manager CPC (desirable, but not essential)
*
Full Class 2 License
*
Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
*
At least 1 Years' experience in a Supervisory position
*
Knowledge of Operator Licensing requirements
*
Experience of working / planning in a multi-drop environment
*
PC literate with intermediate skills of Microsoft Word and Excel
*
Geographical knowledge of Scotland is an advantage
*
Proactive approach to promoting and maintaining safe ways of working
*
Ability to adapt to changing demands and adaptable workload
*
Accuracy and attention to detail.
