Are you an experienced and registered Physiologist? Do you have an all-round knowledge of hospital procedures? Are you available to start immediately in a new role?

NHS Professionals have an exciting opportunity for an experience Respiratory Physiologist to support our client trust. You will be responsible for accurately and safely providing necessary care to patients engaging with the service in the Trust. You will maintain key relationships with co-workers and other health care professionals across the Trust to ensure an effective service.

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest general hospital foundation trusts in the country and the main provider of acute and specialist care services for west Berkshire. With six sites, the Trust employs approximately 5,500 staff and serves a population of around 1,000,000 people.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Performing the review of CPAP therapy for patients with diagnosed sleep disordered breathing who are on CPAP treatment (Using mixed model approach of face to face, telephone and virtual data review).

Perform CPAP Trial set ups for patients with diagnosed sleep disordered breathing and to perform respiratory physiological measurements 'full lung function' in accordance with ARTP/BTS National Guidelines and Departmental Standards.
Taking measurements of respiratory muscle strength (MIP/MEP; SNIP tests; postural spirometry) and performing fraction exhaled Nitric Oxide testing.

Training technical assistants to the highest possible standards and send on external training courses when considered appropriate. Provide training/information for other healthcare employees who request it.

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:

Experience of using CPAP is essential.
Available min 4 days per week and ideally able to commit to 4-6 weeks.
Knowledge of using sleep software such as Resmed Airview and Rescan systems.
