JUNIOR INTERIOR DESIGNER
We are looking for a new junior designer to join our award-winning international interior design and architectural studio in Weybridge. Hill House Interiors' Directors, Helen & Jenny are supported by a 20+ strong team of designers and interior architects, together we are a flourishing design practice that creates interiors that embodies the best in British and European design, our signature look of 'Modern Luxury' blends our impeccable attention to detail with layers of texture and innovative materials.
Job Title: Junior Interior Designer
Salary: GBP(phone number removed)
Work pattern: Full Time, 37.5 hours a week.
Working Hours: 9.00am - 5.30pm or 9:30am - 6pm
Our ideal candidate would be/possess:
A qualification (ideally degree or diploma) in Interior Design/Interior Architecture
Capable of working in a pressured environment with the ability to work to deadlines
A passion for interior design, with an understanding of all aspects which include fabrics; wallpapers; furniture; lighting etc.
Computer literate: Proficient in Microsoft Office with a knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign and Photoshop
A good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Sketch Up with experience of EstiPC an advantage
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. The job will involve dealing with clients or suppliers, either on a personal basis or over the telephone. The ability to visualise concepts and communicate them to others is also important.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, on multiple projects
A full, clean driving licence an advantage
An eye for design and colour, with good 3D and spatial awareness
Some knowledge of FF&E suppliers (e.g. furniture, fabric and wallpaper) would be an advantage
Some residential interior design experience would be an advantage
Photography skills are an advantage
The main duties will include (with full training given):
To assist Senior Designers as and when required in the Hill House Showroom, Office, and accompanying Designers on visits to outside locations.
Producing accurate schedules, for curtain and furniture manufacturers for example
Sourcing and specifying products and materials whilst being mindful of a set budget
Producing comprehensive and professional looking mood boards for presentations to clients
Responsibility for multiple projects from concept development through to installation and styling
Preparing detailed and accurate drawings, designs, plans and schemes
Working in a team with other designers
Keeping up to date with new developments and design trends in the design industry
To assist with any other assignments or tasks that maybe required
Thinking out side the box is a must
