An opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety (HS&E) Advisor has become available at one of Devon's highest profile employers; a world class engineering and manufacturing business that's the largest of its kind in the UK. We want to speak with Health & Safety Advisors who are passionate about playing a key part in ensuring the company meets its ambitious production plans. The preferred candidates will have worked in complex manufacturing environments; people with a desire to make a positive contribution in an ambitious business.
What you'll be doing???
In your new role you'll be working within a specific production area and will be tasked with developing effective relationships to nurture a culture of collective ownership of Health & Safety.
Your day to day will include:
* Provide a comprehensive HS&E service to the business units, providing guidance and support to the managers on all HS&E matters;
* Undertake the promotion, delivery and auditing of HS&E policies and programmes in the workplace and ensure business units are legally compliant;
* Promotion of a positive health and safety culture in all areas of the company through shop floor involvement and development of the Safety Champions & Reps;
* Assisting business units with the root cause analysis, corrective and preventative (CA/PA) measures of accidents, incidents and near misses;
* Compilation and review of Health and Safety and Environmental management systems in line with accredited standards ISO 45001 & 14001;
* Carrying out independent safety and assurance audits in line with an agreed programme;
* Assist business units to comprehensively close out findings of internal and external audits (CA/PA)
* Accurate and on time HS&E reports and statistics;
* Promotion and use of HS&E policies and procedures in conjunction with Line managers;
* Attend meetings as the HS&E representative;
* Carry out HS&E training including Company induction;
* Help develop Company HS&E objectives, policies, procedures and standards.
What experience and qualifications are we looking for???
Experience in a similar role is essential so you'll have a CV that demonstrates that you're a subject matter expert, meeting the following criteria:
* Member of IOSH, minimum Tech (IOSH) working towards Grad (IOSH);
* NEBOSH General certificate/Construction certificate;
* Demonstrable history of working within a manufacturing/ or similar industry;
* Lead auditor trained (desirable)
In addition we're looking for candidates who are proactive and prefer to be out on the shop floor rather than sat behind a desk. Communication skills are key to the success in this role; the ability to positively influence people and challenge the status quo, winning hearts and minds.
How you'll be rewarded???
An attractive base salary of up to GBP35,000 depending on experience, together with an extensive benefits package that offers both immediate and long term reward.
A four and a half day working week!
You'll be joining a business that's committed to professional development, enabling you to fulfil career ambitions through progression opportunities.
