What is REST:
Rest in the Community - Thetford is a new and exciting service providing mental health support to the people of Thetford working to Provide a recovery focused approach to empower people to stay well within their own local communities. The service will support people according to their needs with a focus on wellness rather than illness. The service will work to prevent isolation and loneliness and develop a stronger, more resilient and sustainable community through a range of services and interventions.
Norfolk and Waveney Mind are passionate to drive a truly integrated care system that is inclusive providing a partnership approach to increase preventative activities for the community of Thetford.
The Role
* To be responsible for the day to day coordination of the Rest in the Community network alongside the service manager and working in partnership with the Business and Marketing team at Norfolk and Waveney Mind. As the Co-ordinator you will be responsible for providing mental health support to the people of Thetford in their local community. As the lead you will be responsible for supporting people on their wellness not illness and working to prevent isolation and loneliness to develop a stronger, more resilient and sustainable community through a range of services and interventions.
* This will include day to day management of our external support to the local communities of Thetford. This work includes the coordination of providing support with life skills, social inclusion through one to one support and groups, booking events and coordinating training events working alongside the business development team. You will be liaising with external providers bringing together a strong partnership in organising events and workshops.
Among Other Responsibilities You Will Be:
* Be an active member of the mobilisation phase of Rest in the Community - Thetford.
* Support the Recovery / Peer Workers in carrying out their duties, including using prior experience to assist with any difficult or complex decision making (liaising with the service manager or on-call manager where needed).
* Support individuals in need presenting in a range of ways to develop their own safety plan and coping strategies to prevent a crisis situation.
* Work in partnership with Norfolk and Waveney Mind's Business and Marketing team to bring together events, training and opportunities to develop a sustainable local community across Thetford.
* Lead on building relationships with all stakeholders, integrate organisations and build a strong network.
* Lead on linking key services across our network including support in local GP practices, employment support, mental health support leading to social care crisis.
* Lead on building relationships with local GPs, external agencies and Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust (NSFT) mental health teams, making warm referrals as required.
What We Are Looking For:
* Strong Supervisory/team leading skills
* NVQ level 3 or similar
* Experience of working with people who are or have been in mental health crisis in the past
* Experience of working with people with complex needs who may be difficult to engage
On successful interview with one of our team and a full on-boarding you will receive comprehensive initial training and ongoing training and development as you make your way into your role at Norfolk and Waveney Mind
