About the Client:
* Our client, specialists in the Fire and Security industry, are seeking a hardworking and passionate Fire & Security Tutor based around the Watford area to join their Training team on a permanent basis.
The Role:
* Teach an acclaimed Level 3 apprenticeship programme with one of the industry's leading educators.
* An experienced Fire & Security Engineer who enjoys teaching trainees and would like to become a professional educator.
* Be part of a team of 6 instructors who are ably supported by 5 course administrators.
* Work in two large training workshops packed with the top manufacturer's latest kit, alongside well-equipped classrooms, and office space.
* Teach classes of 8-16 apprentices, so there is plenty of opportunity to personalise instruction to the needs and learning style of each student.
* You will cover the full Level 3 spectrum: safe working; electrical and electronic principles; commercial awareness; installation, commissioning and support best practice.
* Whilst practical instruction is a big part of the job, you will also be coaching and assessing apprentices, contributing to course development, and liaising with employers.
* There will be some travel, although mostly you will be working at the training centre.
* You will be fully supported, including with your studies for teaching qualifications if you've yet to gain these.
* Developing new content and techniques to help students achieve their best.
Qualities Required:
* Strong Fire & Security installation and commissioning experience including fire, CCTV, access control and intruder detection systems.
* Practical tool skills and the ability to demonstrate / teach them to the next generation of engineers.
* An academic interest in the field and experience of supervising/teaching apprentices, as a trainer or as part of your engineering role.
* Great presenter and communicator, who can relate to and coach different personalities with different learning styles.
* An appetite for self-development, with a sound portfolio of professional accreditations and certifications (electrical or electronic qualifications would be preferred)
